Because my About page with plan details may change when I update it, I’m going to share some details of its current status here for the record.
Long story short, I’m attempting to get another validator node elected. I refer to this node as XXV2 and the way I plan to get it elected is to use a low and predictable commission rate. Early nominators can count on two months of me taking less than a 4% cut.
| Era | Day | XXV2’s Cut | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 51 | 1-14 | 2% or less | Initial maximum commission (i.e. 98% goes to stakeholders) |
| 65 | 15-28 | 3% or less | no sooner than Jan 20 |
| 79 | 29-42 | 4% or less | no sooner than Feb 03 |
| 93 | 43-56 | 5% or less | no sooner than Feb 17 |
| 107 | 57-70 | 5% or less | no sooner than Mar 03 |
| 121 | 71-100 | TBD | no sooner than Mar 17; 30-era advance notice in case of commission increase |
Should this attempt succeed, XXV2 will charge nominators according to this plan.
Should this attempt fail (that is, the node fails to get elected after 10 days of waiting), I may edit that page and switch to nominating other nodes until I build a better mousetrap.
The details can be found on About page as long as this attempt goes on (which should be at least until end of first week of January 2022, and longer if it does get elected).
Update (2022-02-25): because whale nominators on both of my nodes introduced a lot of unpredictability, my About page now states that starting February 18 2022, commission increase notices will be delivered in advance maybe just 1-2 eras before they happen but always before election for next era
Update (2022-02-18): this update contains notification about switching to 7-day advance notice for commission increases
