XX Network Geo Bins, Multipliers and Mainnet Preparations

Recently XX Network announced geographic bins and earlier today regional multipliers.

My node happens to be in Oceania and initially gets a 1.4x multiplier.

At this time we don’t know the most important variable, which is exchange rate of XX coin, so this multiplier will make sense only after XX coin becomes publicly traded.

I don’t know how easy it will be to determine whether it can be economic to move a node within a region, but because multiplier values will be regularly refreshed it will probably not be interesting due to the hassle and risk.

I’ve been preparing for mainnet, mainly by taking notes related to Postgres as I want to have working database backups (and the ability to restore).

My node is currently still running on Protonet and I’ll probably let it go until Friday 5pm local time.

I have no plans to renistall operating system on either Node or Gateway. The hardware and drivers have worked perfectly so far.

So, just like with Protonet, I plan to undo certain deployment and configuration steps and deploy mainnet software and configuration files.
